V8 Vantage S - A Sporting Dream.


Sculpted for Speed

We started with the V8 Vantage, a revered car and an iconic part of the Aston Martin model range. But we knew we could produce an even more sporting, even more agile V8 Vantage. A car which took directly from our GT4 race programme. Our designers and engineers worked to produce a car not to replace V8 Vantage but to complement it, a unique package of intense driver involvement.

Increased Intensity

Using the same advanced 4.7ltr engine found in V8 Vantage we specifically retuned the unit to develop an additional 10bhp and a further 20Nm of torque. We’ve produced the most intense driving experience for V8 Vantage we’ve ever created.

Race Bred Looks

Maintaining the classic Vantage exterior, V8 Vantage S introduces new track inspired design features. A new lower front bumper is finished in perfectly-aligned carbon fibre. Revised side sills optically widen the car. The rear splitter combined with the extended deck lid ‘flip’ produce a more aggressive rear profile. New 19 inch ‘V’ spoke wheel styles are available as standard, with an optional 10-spoke lightweight forged wheel.

Introducing Sportshift II

At the core of V8 Vantage S is the new seven speed Sportshift™ II automated manual transmission, delivers exceedingly rapid gear changes, twenty per cent quicker than Sportshift™. An extra gear permits shorter well-spaced ratios taking advantage of the optimum torque, combined with a final drive ratio of 4.182:1 delivers quicker acceleration. Sportshift™ II allows the driver to take an increased level of control, modulating the throttle pedal to achieve the desired type of gear change.

Sumptuous Style

V8 Vantage S uses the same level of material artistry found across our GT model range but with unique interior styling features. Race track inspired stitching on the most supple semi-aniline leather provides distinctive visual contrast whilst authentic metal and wood finishes, such as a Piano Black facia ensure V8 Vantage S is never opulent, but always crafted from the finest materials.

We Started with Purity

How to create a more sporting, more aggressive V8 Vantage? Our designers wanted to maintain the classic Vantage shape but add presence and assertion, stronger visuals with clear purpose. With inspiration from our class-leading GT race programme our world-leading design team created a car which stayed pure to the Vantage ethos but exposed exquisite sporting styling and details.

Top-Down Exhilaration

Convertibles rarely preserve the cohesion of the Coupe, V8 Vantage S Roadster is a glorious exception. Styled as an athlete wearing a skin-tight suit, the Roadster’s rakish lines and tailored roof in keeping with its pared-back, performance-biased brief. Raised or lowered in just 18 seconds at speeds of up to 30 mph, the fabric hood stows beneath an aluminium tonneau to create a clean, unbroken line from front to rear.

Inspired Styling

A new lower front bumper finished in perfectly-aligned carbon fibre houses a larger air intake feeding the engine and front brakes. A rear splitter combines with the extended deck lid ‘flip’ work in harmony to provide increased down force at speed and give a dynamic rear profile. Side sills taken from the V12 Vantage optically widen the car and ‘plant’ it on the road.

Material Artistry

Authentic materials are crafted by experts to create a cockpit of the finest quality, but not one of distraction. Unique V8 Vantage S styling features include race-track style stitching, a distinctive lightweight seat design and stitched door-card panels. With thousands of possible colour and material combinations V8 Vantage S can be uniquely personalised to exacting standards.

Searing Urgency

Specifically tuned to create the right blend of power and performance the 4.7ltr V8 engine that sits at the heart of V8 Vantage S is the most potent V8 unit we’ve ever made. Assembled by hand at our bespoke Cologne facility, V8 Vantage S enhances the stunning figures produced by V8 Vantage.

Peak power of 436PS. Maximum torque of 490Nm. Top speed of 190mph. A 0-60mph sprint time of just 4.6secs. V8 Vantage S is an intense and dynamic driving experience.

From Road to Race, And Back

Bridging the gap between road and track, the Vantage S is heavily influenced by the Vantage GT4. Forming the engineering base from which the race-ready car is created. Racing safety modifications include an FIA roll cage and racing fuel tank along with weight savings. With 40 race wins in 2012 alone, in championships taking place around the world we also use the lessons learned in our GT programme to make the Vantage range even more capable. Put simply, when we win, you win.
